OUR NAME It’s really not easy to choose a name for a restaurant. When we were about to get desperate, “The Liberty Tavern” was proposed, and we knew we had the right fit. The name is, in part, a tribute to Dominick Calabro, Stephen and Mark Fedorchak’s beloved maternal grandfather, who owned and operated The Liberty Hotel and Bar in Northeastern Pennsylvania for nearly fifty years. Additionally, we feel the name “The Liberty Tavern” has a warm, timeless ring to it that reflects our aspirations of becoming a longstanding Clarendon destination.
PARTNERS Two neighborhood families, the Fedorchaks and the Normiles, have collaborated to establish Clarendon’s newest restaurant and bar. Brian and Christine Normile, of BCN Enterprises, LLC, are local real estate developers, and have transformed the historic building into a beautiful two-story neighborhood tavern. Restaurant veteran Stephen Fedorchak, formerly of The Capital Grille, together with his wife, Kirstin Gibbs are combining with Stephen's brother Mark Fedorchak on the operations side of The Liberty Tavern.
SMOKING The Liberty Tavern is a smoke-free establishment.
PARKING If you drive to The Liberty Tavern, there are metered parking spaces on Wilson Boulevard, Clarendon Boulevard, Irving Street and across from St. Charles Church on Fairfax Drive. If no spots are available, there is a 400 space public parking lot under Arlington's Department of Human Services Building at the intersection of Highland Street and Wilson Boulevard (3033 Wilson Blvd). Enter the lot from the Highland Street entrance. The garage hours are M-F from 6pm - 2:30am and Sat and Sun from 10am - 2:30am.
