ABOUT

Located in a historic building in the heart of Clarendon, The Liberty Tavern features modern American cuisine in its upstairs dining room and downstairs bar, along with a diverse wine list, creative specialty cocktails and a great selection of premium draft and bottled beer. Our comfortable ambiance is enhanced by warm, hospitable service, and whether you’re joining us for a round of drinks in the bar, a casual midweek supper with your children, or a special evening with friends and family, you’re sure to feel at home.

OUR NAME It’s really not easy to choose a name for a restaurant. When we were about to get desperate, “The Liberty Tavern” was proposed, and we knew we had the right fit. The name is, in part, a tribute to Dominick Calabro, Stephen and Mark Fedorchak’s beloved maternal grandfather, who owned and operated The Liberty Hotel and Bar in Northeastern Pennsylvania for nearly fifty years. Additionally, we feel the name “The Liberty Tavern” has a warm, timeless ring to it that reflects our aspirations of becoming a longstanding Clarendon destination.

CHEF Executive Chef Liam LaCivita, a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, joined The Liberty Tavern with over 16 years of experience, most recently as Executive Chef at 'Centro Italian Grill' in Bethesda, Maryland, and previously at the Four Diamond 'Dining Room at The Berkeley Hotel' in Richmond, Virginia and '21 Federal' on Nantucket Island. Liam is excited to offer a seasonally influenced menu of modern American cuisine at dinner, lunch, and brunch, with many of the menu selections emerging from his kitchen’s two wood-burning ovens.

MANAGEMENT Mark Fedorchak, formerly of Zola in Washington, DC, serves as General Manager of The Liberty Tavern, welcoming every guest with a gracious smile and managing a staff dedicated to outstanding service. Mark's management team includes Sean Lowder, Ricky Shepherd and Bob Mollen.

PARTNERS Two neighborhood families, the Fedorchaks and the Normiles, have collaborated to establish Clarendon’s newest restaurant and bar. Brian and Christine Normile, of BCN Enterprises, LLC, are local real estate developers, and have transformed the historic building into a beautiful two-story neighborhood tavern. Restaurant veteran Stephen Fedorchak, formerly of The Capital Grille, together with his wife, Kirstin Gibbs are combining with Stephen's brother Mark Fedorchak on the operations side of The Liberty Tavern.

SMOKING The Liberty Tavern is a smoke-free establishment.
